ABOUT ME
Dempsey Ormrod
Bachelor Deg. Clinical Exercise Physiology
Advanced Dip. Myotherapy

Originally from Melbourne I relocated to the Sunshine Coast to further my study in Clinical Exercise Physiology having previously studied an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy and Diploma of Massage Therapy.

I have worked for many years as a remedial massage therapist before graduating as a Myotherapist in 2015. I have now been practicing dual Qualification Practitioner, combining the skillsets of Exercise Physiology and Myotherapy since 2020, into a comprehensive and holistic approach to allied health care.
In this time I have worked within many different settings including at Myotherapy exclusive Allied Health Clinics, at industry leading Multimodality Allied Health Clinics as part of the multidisciplinary treating team in Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast, worked with elite sporting clubs/ athletes, successfully opened and run my own private boutique Allied Health Clinic and also was employed as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant working with DVA and Workcover clients.

I have had the pleasure of working alongside the Western Bulldogs 2016 AFL Premiership team and many elite athletes from a range of sports including:
- Olympic runners
- Paralympic / World Champ Cyclist
- World Championship Lifesavers
- Elite power lifting athletes

I find it very rewarding to help anyone who is in pain and often get 'hi-five' moments with clients when they attend a follow up session with little to no pain.

As a practitioner I believe Corrective Exercise in conjunction with hands on Myotherapy treatment is the key to achieving the best results for my clients.
Corrective exercises often addresses predisposing factors that may lead to or are the cause of an injury while soft tissue techniques help relieve immediate and ongoing pain. These are amazing interventions to aid in the treatment for all chronic disease and acute injury clients.
